YES!

Desiree Rogers no longer has a job, presidential gatecrasher Michaela Salahi does: She will be one of the new “Real Housewives of D.C.” Also in the works: A Salahis tell-all book.

When last the public saw Tareq and Michaele Salahi they were refusing to answer questions from members of a House panel about how they got into President Barack Obama’s first state dinner.

Today, the Daily Beast has confirmed from two sources that the so-called White House gatecrashers, whose prank ultimately cost presidential Social Secretary Desiree Rogers her job, are poised to take center stage once again as the most visible members of the upcoming Bravo series “The Real Housewives of D.C.” After one of the most visible reality series auditions in history—yes, Bravo cameras were on hand as the Salahis arrived for that ill-fated White House event—the couple has now been fully embraced as the focal point of the series, expected to premiere in July.

South Moon Under Bethesda Re-Opens!

Today, South Moon Under Bethesda had their grand re-opening party. I picked up a brand new pair of gold Jack Rogers Navajo sandals (see the previous entry) and coveted many adorable bathing suits and summer clothes. The gorgeous models showed off the outfits and accessories beautifully and the music in the background (plus free bevvies and snacks!) made the atmosphere super fun.

I would have hung out longer (they had some very enticing door prizes from Red Door Spa and Balducci's) but my partner in crime couldn't join me. One can only browse/try on summer clothes in March for so long without becoming depressed, so my Jacks and I peaced out.

Seriously considering hopping into a tanning bed right now...

Nothing comes between me and my Jack (Rogers)s

After talking about getting a pair of Jack Rogers Navajo sandals for the last year (ok, maybe two...) I finally broke down and bought a pair at South Moon Under Bethesda's re-opening party.

Looking at them is as fulfilling as eating a Georgetown Cupcake.

Deals and Steals

Yesterday, my friend Britney took me bargain hunting at Unique in Fairfax. Unique is actually a chain with locations all over the county. We spent hours combing through designer clothes and various knick knacks. After a little digging we came out with some real treasures.

Later in the evening, while waiting for a table at dinner, Katie and I popped into Chic Envy Consignment in Fairfax Corner. CEC is an amazing shop with high end designer items (that don't even appear to be used) for sale at criminally low prices.

Here's what a day's worth of shopping got everyone:
  • $15 stair stepper
  • Brooks Brothers flats and blazer
  • Miss Albright flats
  • Porcelain vase
  • Cherry wood desk
  • $4 Sperrys
  • Farragamo flats
  • Serving platters

This makes me immeasurably happy
